Momma's First Christmas

I've been wanting to write this blog and have made up so many excuses not to... Finding stupid things to fill my time up instead. Well, it's Christmas morning and everyone is asleep... No better time to write this than now. This is my absolute favorite time of the year. I love the lights, the decorations, the carols, the baking, the wrapping, the time with loved ones, but above all I love the peace that the season brings... Whether or not you believe in Jesus, you know the peace I am talking about... On Christmas day, no matter who you are, where you are, hurting or happy, you can have peace. I don't mean to sound cliche, but it's the truth. Jesus came to make peace between man and God. It truly is amazing! My goal is not to preach to you, but I want my readers to know that I 100% believe in the Spirit of Christmas and Who this season is about... With that in mind, I feel like this is the first year I have been able to really grasp (as much as the human mind can), t...

Seven Months!

Image
Oh man... This Momma is WAY behind with this post... But come on, it's the best time of the year so... Forgive me!   In the seventh months I've been alive I have... Had my first Halloween. I was a puppy because I always stick my tongue out. AND I tried solids for the very first time! Yum... Rice cereal, but I prefer oatmeal now. On Halloween, I got to pick out my own candies... Momma wouldn't let me have any though... ( I chose a Snickers!)   This month I started to put my hands out to let you know I want to be held.   Had my very first Presidential election. Momma kept saying we were fleeing the country, but we are still here... So I'm assuming she was joking.   Started shaking my head "no" and giving eskimo kisses. Momma taught me and told me that was what her and Papa first did before they kissed.   Enjoyed my very first Thanksgiving, and Uncle Chuck got to hold me for the very first time.   Learned how to drink ...

Six Months!

Image
Happy Half Birthday to ME!   In the sixth month I have...   Learned to cover my face with my blanket and have my hands over my head.   (Don't worry Momma keeps her eye on me and doesn't let me sleep like this for very long.)   Went to my first corn maze, pumpkin patch, and "helped" make apple cider. My Momma and Papa LOVE the fall (I keep hearing them say that's when they fell in love) so I guess I am bound to like this season as well.   Love it when Momma and Papa jump on the bed. It makes me giggle.   Started taking naps without fighting sleep. Momma loved that but it only lasted a month. I started fighting again...But I do have a nap schedule nap.   I like to take my naps with my face covered with my blankie. That helps me sleep.   Learned how to roll from my back to my tummy...However, I forgot how to roll from my tummy to my back. I only do it once in a while.   Momma and Papa star...

Five Months!

Image
(Momma wanted to put me in this outfit because it's from my buddy Silas who was born this month!)     In the fifth month I have...   Learned how to pull my "froggie." (A Bright Starts toy)   Enjoy scratching things because it makes noise.   Pooped on Momma for the first time (in church!) Papa took such good care of me.   Slept for 8 1/2 hours in a row for the first and only time. (I'm enjoying waking up every 2 hours again.)   Went blueberry picking for the very first time.   Started scooting myself around on my back.   I love being naked and have recently started "helping" Momma change my diapers.   With a little help I am able to sit on my own for up to 20-30 seconds (See photo above!)   Momma is so proud I can now do push ups, crunches and sort of a pull up. She is excited to teach me so many more exercises.   I officially have to be buckled in my swing now...I like t...

Four months!

Image
Oh man, my doll-face is already 1/3 of her way to a year! Please slow down, Haven...           So Momma forgot to include a few things that happened last month, and I'm too little to proofread yet, so I missed them too... Continuation of what happened in my third month...     I started to enjoy kicking a lot (Papa thinks pro ball is in my future)   I no longer need assistance in holding my head   I rolled over for the first time at my Uncle and Auntie's house   I have become quite the belcher... No help needed for burping here... I just unlatch myself and let em rip!         Now on to what happened THIS month... In the fourth month I have...   Met my Great-Grammy from Kansas I started grabbing my toys...   I especially LOVE my Sophie the Giraffe   I like to stick out my tongue and do raspberries   Put your hand on my mouth an...

Three Months!

Image
I'm a little late in getting this up due to all of our fun summer adventures, but here it is... 3 months & 11 days In the third month I have... Been to four states... Momma and Papa have already given me the travel bug. (Washington...I was born there so duh!, Oregon, Alaska AND Hawaii) I flew on my first airplane. Momma said I did great except for when she had to change me on top of the potty. Met my Uncle Ryry, Auntie Steph and cousin Lucy in Anchorage, AK. Met and visited my Great-Aunties, Uncle and second cousins in Portland and Port Orchard. Went swimming for the first time in the pool, ocean AND lake. I prefer the warm Hawaiian pool, however. Momma started carrying me in the Moby Wrap and I love it. Papa calls me a baby kangaroo with my little head popping through. I enjoy playing with my hands and I started grabbing objects. My sleep sheep is my new best friend. I started laughing, but am holding off being ticklish for a bit longe...

Two Months!

Image
How can it be that my baby is already TWO months old?? She just keeps getting cuter and cuter, and I am falling more and more in love with her by the minute! I love my sweet girl! Recap of two months... In the second month I have... Discovered my thumb... I still prefer my bink, but once in a while will sneak it in when no one's looking... Learning how to talk back to my Momma and Papa already. Cooing and smiling is my new favorite thing. I enjoy doing push ups and pullups (assisted by my Papa of course). I can now hold the push up position for several minutes. My baby cousin was born right before I turned two months... However, we are the same size so she may not consider me her "older" cousin. I still adore my swing, and am starting to enjoy the front to back motion and not just side to side anymore. Momma's favorite...I sleep from 10:30pmish-5:30amish, depending on my tummy. (I did sleep til 6:30am though just the other night... Momma see...

Haven Neriyah 4/25/12

Image
Now that Haven is almost two months, I am thinking I should probably post her birth story... I have had a few mommas-to-be ask, so here it is... This is a difficult blog to write because a baby's birth is always so personal. I don't know how to start off writing this other than asking... Who am I? I am a person like anyone else who has dreams, goals and plans. I had a plan in mind for Haven's birth, but who am I that the Lord would care about my hopes? All I can say is this story is not about me...not about Haven...not about Aaron, but about the Lord God Almighty Who answers prayers. Sometimes in the ways we hope and dream for, other times the way He plans...   Tuesday April 24th, I had a non-stress test to be sure Haven was healthy and doing good since she was a week "past her due date." The morning of the test I was completely stressed. My cat was sick and was taken to the vet by my mother-in-law while I was on my way to the hospital for the test and Aaron ...

One Month!

Image
As every new momma says, "Holy Smokes! Where has the time gone?!" Little Haven is ONE MONTH old today!! Wowsers! I haven't posted anything since her birth (I wonder why?! :) But plan on posting the birth story and a before and after of her nursery. So happy Aaron finishes his first year of medical school today. Hallelujah! It will be so nice to maybe get a little sleep at night. Anyway... Here is her one month photo... The bear is from Aunt Mary, the blue blanket made by Aunt Chris and the adorable dress a gift from "Uncle Kevin" and "Aunt Ashley"! Thanks everyone!! In the first month I have... Learned to eat, poop and stay wide awake unless I'm incredibly sleepy. Momma has to put me in the ergo sometimes when I'm past exhaustion. I love my cloth diapers and to be swaddled and cuddled. I sleep next to Momma's bed in my Pack N Play and am excited for Papa to join us at night. I'm still searching for my thumb, but h...

So here it is... What you have all been waiting for (well, at least I have been!) Baby girl's nursery reveal. So happy the room is complete! I feel pretty good about how it turned out especially with my husband being in med school and money being tight. HUGE thanks goes out to my mom and mother-in-law for making the room a success. They helped with painting, sewing and putting things together to make this room complete for my little girl. Oh and of course, I have to thank Pinterest for SO many wonderful ideas and DIY projects. Well enjoy...Before photos and details on specifics to come...   First thing you see when entering the room

Happy New Year and a few days...

So I am a little bit behind with my blogging...Unfortunately, I don't have a computer at the moment (ours broke) and I try to squeeze in time on my mother-in-law's when I can. So updates are quite needed by this time... The following things have happened since the last time I posted.... We had our 20 weeks (21 for us!) ultrasound We had our gender reveal/Christmas party Went to Leavenworth for a little gettaway vacation Was surprised by our dear family from Alaska, Ryan and Stephanie (Aaron's brother and sister-in-law) Chr istmas, New Years and a new semester for Aaron in med school Whoa, that is a lot to catch up on, but here it goes...   Our 21 week ultrasound was AMAZING! A bit overwhelming, humbling, and some disappointment, but looking back... a miracle. Did you just read, disapointment? Yes, yes, you did... I will be completely honest and open (as always). This is not the easiest thing to share because HOW could someone be disappointed in seeing their H...
