Happened a couple days after my  first birthday Have moved houses and cities for the first time Now "winking" (blinking) In love with kissing Watching TV (Baby Signing Time only) and can sign"cracker," "more," "all done," "eat," "water," "milk," "please," "shoes," "hat," "potty," "baby" Calling for Momma and Papa (JUST started saying Papa Nov. 8) Enjoying throwing stuff away in the garbage (including non-disposable items like a brand new tube of lipstick...) Say cat as "dat" Tried to follow Peng! into the bathroom and found some newspaper kitty litter Officially high-five Started throwing balls Understand where things belong and can put them away (ex. baby jar lid on glass jar, great-grandma's oxygen around her face, etc) Standing all by myself

Rewind 6 months

Can it really be possible that I haven't blogged in over SIX months?! I mean we had a milestone birthday party, packed, moved, unpacked, traveled to Alaska twice, and I have been training non-stop since we entered wet-city, but still six months?!! Must have been because my computer was broken and I couldn't figure out how to upload pictures. All to say, I have so much to share. I'll just start with Haven's top photos from her one year birthday shoot. She is so tiny... I miss this stage.

Shabby-Chic: First Birthday Party

Image
Haven's party did not exactly go the way I had imagined, but it was still a great afternoon. It was a ton of pinning, planning and crafting, and a great way to celebrate making it through our first year of parenthood. Unfortunately, a lot of my hard work was not able to be shown at the party (many things had to be taped down or put together differently than I had wanted), but Haven felt loved and special. THAT is all a momma can ask for. Thank you all who came and helped make this day a very special birthday for our little Haven. Now for the party photos you all  some have been waiting for.   As the afternoon went on and the wind continue howling we decided to move the party indoors. The cake smash and present opening blog to follow.

Eleven Months!

Image
Okay seriously... ELEVEN months?! I'm sorry I am never going to stop being amazed at how quickly my little girl is growing up. This time next month she will be a year old and we will be celebrating her first birthday with a very special party. Can't wait... Well, here goes a little bit about what has happened from Haven's "perspective". Eleven months and not slowing down   In the eleventh month I have...   Started passing objects and saying "tank yu" Momma keeps saying my first word(s) is "thank you." She doesn't realize I just get a response out of making these noises  so I continue to repeat them.   Had my first real cough. It was no fun!   Popped my first top two teeth.   Learned how to give kisses and love it. They are my favorite.   Mastered standing up holding onto things and have tried standing on my own once or twice. Still working on that.   Become a fast crawler and chase the kitty all around...

Ten Months!

Image
Oh my, only a couple more months and my babe will be ONE YEAR!! Ahhhhh. But for now, I will enjoy these next couple of months.   This month has been a BIG month for me. DOUBLE DIGITS!   In the tenth month I have...   Whistled. I'm quick and keep Momma on her feet. She never knows when I'm going to do it, that way she can't get it on tape. ;)   Started clapping my hands. If you do a good job, don't worry I will clap for you. I also like to clap when music is playing.   Become a "pro" waver.   We left on my 10 month birthday for Seattle and I walked Papa to the door. Before he closed the front door and had the chance to say goodbye, I waved him off.   Learned to turn on my butt in circles. (It's my nice way of saying I don't want to listen to you... Everyone just thinks it's a new trick though.)   BIGGEST accomplishment of ALL... I have officially started crawling. Momma and Papa (and everyone else!)...

Nine Months!

Image
Nine months?! No way has it been NINE months!! Oh my baby is growing so fast.... I just keep enjoying each new milestone, and holding on to every moment... Life is precious.   In the ninth month I have...     Been wearing Babylegs non-stop. Momma is convinced they will help me start crawling, but I'm just holding out on her.   Had my first New Years. Momma said I started the year off right by sleeping 12 hours in a row. I have continued to sleep 10-12 hours a night for the most part. Momma seems quite happy about that.   Re-met my Grandpa Floyd (Gman). He lives in Fairbanks and I haven't seen him since I was first born...So I didn't remember him very well.   I tend to still miss my bus at nap time if my Momma isn't paying attention.   Finally got to bump up snap sizes on my BumGenius diapers.   Started wearing 9 month old clothes, but am about to outgrow those. Yippee!   Tried feeding myself for ...

Eight Months!

Image
This is ridiculously late, but better now then when her nine month update is due in just a couple weeks!   In the eighth month I have...   Had my first tooth popped through! The second followed within a couple days. It was not very fun, but it is nice to chew and bite things.   Started saying Nana (I got to surprise her on her birthday, saying Nana for the very first time).   Learned to click my tongue.   Experienced my first snow fall.   Started waving, but I don't really know what it means yet.   Learned to nod my head "Yes!" (Momma prefers this over shaking my head "no.")   Tried my sleep sack for the very first time in place of my swaddle.  I like it. No more swaddling for this girl   (well, unless I'm beyond tired and my arms are flaying)   I received my first doctor kit. Going to be like Papa when I play!   Best of all, I experienced my very FIRST CHRISTMAS!...
