It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It is officially December and I am ecstatic! The holidays are definitely what makes the winters wonderful. I pretty much look forward to the Christmas season, right after New Years. I know that sounds a bit ridiculous, but it is the truth. There is just something about Christmas that makes me feel like a child again...The child I believe God calls us to be like on a regular basis. As it gets closer to Christmas, I'd like to share this idea in greater detail.
Something happening a little bit sooner, though, is finding out our baby's gender. I think it is pretty neat that we get to find out if baby C is a he or she around this magical season. Originally I was pretty bummed I had to wait until December (thinking we could find out the day after Halloween at 16 weeks), but I am glad it is one more thing to be excited about during this amazing time of the year! Only a couple more days until we have our ultrasound.
Unfortunately, we just found out that Aaron has a very important test that day at 2:00pm while our appointment is at 2:45pm so hopefully he will be able to make it and not miss much. Worse case scenario we will just have to have the tech write it and seal it in an envelope for us and find another special way of finding out together. It will still be a special moment though and I am trusting God has a plan for all of this.
We plan to keep this a secret between the two of us for a week and a half until Aaron has finished his first semester of med school and we can celebrate with a Christmas Gender Reveal Party! I am having SO much fun planning this. I'm not much of an artsy fartsy kind of gal, but I want to be, so I am learning and playing with a few ideas. As long as everything turns out well, I plan to post the photos of the invitation for the party and photos of the revealing. Then after the party we will announce on Facebook and of course I'll blog about it!
I have been following another pregnancy blog from a gal (also named Jessica) across the country who I know nothing about other than what she writes... Anyway, I love her little survey she does every week and thought maybe I would try this so I can look back at this pregnancy and remember the little details. Please if you are not interested, you can stop reading now... If you haven't already ;)
