Baby Bound

So the news is out!! Phew...So happy for the world to know! That is a difficult thing to keep a secret for two and half months when you are a Facebook addict and are trying to share your heart in a blog... However, I am going to be honest...Now that you all know Baby Conger is alive, you may not get me to stop talking about him or her. So friends, if you are tired of reading baby blogs, you may just want to stop here... :)

Some of you have asked how I told Aaron, where are the baby bump photos, how far along am I and how am I feeling... Well, here it is...

Back in August I went to Issaquah (Seattle area) for a friend's wedding. Prepping for the wedding the night before, (alone for Aaron was finishing up with the school week) I decided I should probably take a pregnancy test. They were having an open bar and I hoped to have a couple of drinks. I was a bit worried about the wedding the next day with having to pee about every 15 minutes. Afraid maybe a urinary tract infection was coming on. With that in mind, I took a pregnancy test. Test showed negative...or so I thought. A few hours later I looked at the pregnancy test "manual" which showed it was an inaccurate test. I told myself I'd take another in the morning first thing.

The next morning I was a bit nervous to take it so I post-poned it telling myself not to get my hopes up and I would probably be having a glass of wine to celebrate the bride and groom instead. Throughout the morning I kept delaying the test until finally the bride told me, "Go pee on a stick!" Now, when you are a bridesmaid in your friend's wedding, you can't tell the bride "no" so off I went. Instantly the result was there...

"This can't be..." I told myself. To have a positive pregnancy test after "not trying" for one month seemed a little quick. "I probably just peed on it wrong or didn't do something right." I went back into the bride's dressing room and Brandie instantly looks at me and says, "So?"
I smiled and she instantly knew. Soon enough all the women in the dressing room knew. I told them all to settle down, that it probably wasn't correct, and that I planned on taking another one right before Aaron arrived for the ceremony. They all laughed... "If that stick told you in the middle of the day that you're pregnant...Your pregnant." One of the other bridesmaids responded.

I didn't care, I had to take another test...The second one turned out to be another inaccurate test. I entered back into the dressing room telling them that I probably was not pregnant. Knowing that I had JUST taken a test about ten minutes earlier, probably indicated why the second one was not accurate.
With that being said, I was deteremined to take a fourth test the following morning but go with the positive result. No drinks for me! Instead I got to tell Aaron, whom I was so excited to share with. And it went something like this....

"Baby, hold my flowers. Aren't they pretty?!
"Yeah....They are pretty?"
"No, babe, LOOK at my FLOWERS!"
"Yeah..."
Laughing, "No LOOK!"

"What's that thermometer doing in there?!"
Silence for a few three seconds.
"Is this for REAL?!"
*Laughing*
It was a very special moment and pretty neat someone caught it on camera. Thanks Stephanie! And yes, the next morning I did take a fourth and FINAL pregnancy test and the rest is history!

Here are some baby bump photos...

In the Beginning...

15 weeks later...

They are trying to hang on! Definitely beginning to split.

Things have and are getting better as I have entered into my second trimester. Thankfully I only suffered with nausea and no throwing up (thought it was my acid reflux that got horrible with the pregnancy...Thankfully I feel a lot better and nothing has changed except entering into the second trimester. A little nausea here and there but not waking up to it every morning). We are due April 17th, 2012! Can't wait to find out the baby's gender in five weeks, pick out a name and get ready for this little guy/girl! Next week I'll add some more recipes and talk about our fun adventures we will have this upcoming weekend with our trip to Seattle. Can't wait! Aaron has his third test block and his third weekend off in three months! Off I go, til then...
